Cosmic Cue
A puzzle game where you play pool on a planetary scale!

Technology: Unreal, Blender

Our team of 3 built this in 48 hours for the 2024 GMTK Game Jam. The theme of the jam was "Built to Scale" which we interpreted as scaling up a game of pool to a solar system-like size.

Playing Pool With Planets
To complete each level the player must draw back their cue stick and slam their planet like a billiard ball into the Earth-like planet. Players pass a level when they manage to knock the Earth into the sun. There are three maximum points that can be achieved each level by doing the following:
-
Sinking all planets into the sun
-
Keeping your cue ball intact
-
Collecting all the flying comets.

Gravity of the Situation
An additional element of gameplay I created are the Gas Giants. These planets will pull the players cue ball towards their center, allowing the player to slingshot around them to make shots.

Later levels make use of multiple Gas Giants to amp up difficulty and get a nice slingshot effect from the cue ball
